Police training

Using remains in the anatomy dissecting laboratories, Professor Black and her team have provided advanced mortuary training to the UK national deployment capability. Every officer, deployed to a national or international mass fatality event, will have been trained at the University of Dundee.

This training was recognised by INTERPOL as being gold standard and recommended that it should be adopted by all member countries.

The team have also been invited to train police and forensic experts around the world including the Netherlands Police Training Center, the National Police Improvement Agency, the University’s of Pretoria and Melbourne.

The Centre has also had visitors from the FBI, Turkey, Japan, Germany, USA, Canada.
